Job Title: Sales Representative/Account Manager
Locations: Los Angeles, CA
Reports to: General Manager, Southwest Region

Summary

Build and leverage wholesale operations in California.  Working as part of our California roasting operation and team, this position involves pursuing new wholesale business across a variety of channels.  Work closely with the Senior Sales Manager, our production, training and wholesale teams in LA and also fulfill sales goals by pursuing targeted opportunities in key metro areas within, but not always limited to, Los Angeles County.

Essential Functions

  • Day to day sales and account visits
  • Maintain a priority based schedule for meeting with prospective customers
  • Accountable for targeted quarterly and yearly sales by market and channel
  • Organize and maintain key initiatives around opportunities, targets and geographies
  • Manage and fulfill key account needs
  • Develop a firm understanding of products and services offered and demonstrate this understanding in the sales process
  • Weekly recap of account visits and call frequency
  • Follow the Stumptown sales cycle from prospect to new account to roll-out
  • Cold call the Stumptown way, be able to represent the company in any situation
  • General enthusiasm for selling our coffee
  • Effectively manage new prospect meetings and appointments
  • Demonstrate ability to prescreen and select wholesale customers
  • Sell and manage espresso equipment with wholesale customers
  • Hold regular coffee tastings, including cuppings and drip tastings
  • Ensure coffee quality among accounts through hands-on bar skills and coffee knowledge
  • Improve Stumptown’s customer relationships with a focus on profitability
  • Other duties as assigned

Summary

Our Deliver Drivers support our commitment to exceptional customer service by working closely with the wholesale team, the roasters and the office team.  He/she will transfer roasted coffee and cold brew from our Roastery in LA to our distribution facility in OC, make daily deliveries to our wholesale accounts within the designated territory, and may assist with general production from time to time.  This position will be based in Orange County and have daily/weekly travel within OC, SD and LA counties.

Essential Functions

  • Picking up and transporting coffee and Cold Brew from LA Roastery to Orange County distribution facility.
  • Maintaining OC facility in a neat and organized way so as to maximize efficiency in deliveries.
  • Delivering coffee to wholesale customers in San Diego and Orange Counties in all channels including grocery and retail cafes. Interact with customers several times a week.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with LA Production, Sales and Office management teams.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all customers.
  • Generally representing Stumptown in the field.
  • Own the wholesale process for daily routing, delivering and, if needed, relaying orders to our Customer Service department.
  • Collecting and submitting all invoices for delivered coffee & cold brew to LA on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Manage coffee inventories at retail and maintain regular rotation of bagged coffee in accordance with Stumptown’s quality and freshness policies.
  • Assist occasionally with daily production and flow on the LA roastery floor, as needed.

Summary

The Green Coffee Traffic Coordinator supports the coffee team by coordinating the delivery and distribution of green coffee supply for all Stumptown roasting markets.

Essential Functions

  • Execute all coffee releases and purchase orders through close coordination with green coffee importers and warehouses
  • Coordinate with freight carries for all pick-up and delivery of scheduled green coffee
  • Support the Coffee Purchasing Manager in updating the green coffee position, organizing physical contracts, and tracking incoming green coffee shipments
  • Track coffee shipments and delivery schedules for roasters
  • Assist the Coffee Purchasing Manager in managing off site green coffee inventory
  • Coordinate closely with roast leads in all markets to manage flow and green coffee needs
  • Support for roast leads prior to and during organic inspection
  • Provide support to accounting and roast leads for month end reporting
  • Represent Stumptown for green coffee logistics issues, invoicing, receiving, positions reports, etc.
  • Works closely with receiving on all inbound green deliveries to roasteries

Job Title: Grocery Sales Merchandiser
Locations: Los Angeles County

Summary

This position will work very closely with the wholesale team, production group and the office/customer support team in an ever-expanding retail environment to ensure that our grocery customers are receiving the same level of customer service that all of our partners have become accustomed to. The ideal candidate will create positive and lasting relationships with our vendors, catering to the needs of storeowners and managers at each store to fulfill specific requests. The position will require multi-tasking, confidence in selling to a variety of retailers and ensuring that quality inventory and freshness standards are being maintained at each store.

Essential Functions

  • Write orders and make deliveries to grocery accounts within a specific territory. Manage accounts on an ongoing basis to anticipate needs and potential issues
  • Merchandise and face bags on the shelves of each location ensuring that bags remain presentable after making it to each account. Rotate coffee inventory at all grocery accounts in territory to minimize expired product and store credits
  • Increase distribution of both coffee and cold brew within all current accounts and seek out new opportunities within the market
  • Assist in the introduction of new skus and products to partners in conjunction with sales team. Work in conjunction with distributor manager to support product launch and order fulfillment
  • Manage and support grocery coffee programs, help setup and perform in-store samplings among all grocery accounts, including drip coffee and cold brew tastings with the public
  • Manage coffee inventories and merchandise
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with internal teams including Production, Sales and Customer Support
  • Serve as point person for in-store support and needs. Maintain relationships with store managers, buyers, relevant support staff
  • Coordinate volume/trend/credits by store and by route by utilizing reporting provided via NetSuite on a monthly or quarterly basis

Other Responsibilities

  • Keep fleet stocked with all grocery collateral, ie, racks, ice bins, shelf talkers, description cards
  • Assist in developing routes to coincide with already heavy-traffic issues ensuring efficiencies
  • Work closely with the production team in order to ensure orders are filled accurately and on-time
  • Cup and taste coffee regularly to maintain familiarity with product and quality standards. Stay informed of new coffee availability and information
