Job Scope:

The primary purpose of this position is to develop direct source relationships with our producing partners around the world. This role will work with the green coffee team to expand and manage supply chain relationships, assist in quality control at origin as well as support and communicate the buying practices and sustainability principles that the Stumptown sourcing program is based upon.

Key Results and Activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Stumptown coffee producers at origin
  • Support in creating innovative sourcing practices to ensure consistently increasing quality in coffee supply
  • Perform audits on coffee buying criteria
  • Assist the Green Coffee Team with forecasting, distribution and placement to our roasteries and quality control cupping
  • Provide source trip information to Coffee Information Team for distribution to all of Stumptown Coffee and our customers
  • Assist with development of social media, photography and content generation from origin
  • Cupping at origin to assess quality levels
  • Assist in pricing discussions and cost of production analyses for all origin countries
  • Work with development partners to enhance support for producers
  • Travel extensively with up to 50% of time spent in field

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in international development or business
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for coffee and sustainability
  • Strong language skills, including second language aptitude (Spanish, Portuguese, French and/or Swahili)
  • Detail-oriented and methodical
  • Flexibility with travel to ensure project success
  • Basic understanding of the coffee roasting process
  • Agronomy training and agricultural experience a strong plus
  • Logistics and supply chain experience a strong plus
  • Familiarity with multiple technology platforms, including Microsoft Office, Mac OS, Google Apps, etc.

Overview:
Stumptown is looking for a killer candidate to be a Field Service Manager in the NYC area.

Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service skills, and the ability to maintain good rapport with customers
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Computer literate with experience in MS Office and various accounting software

Essential Functions:

  • Manages the field service personnel who perform on-site routine services including installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Oversees scheduling and training of field service representatives. Responsibilities also include handling service contracts and directing support services. May require a bachelor’s degree in area of specialty and/ or at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Reports to the Director of Field Service and to the Director of Operations.
  • Service existing accounts by analyzing work orders, planning daily travel schedule, investigating complaints, conducting tests, scheduling and performing preventative maintenance, and resolving problems.
  • Service new accounts by performing preinstall site scopes, gathering components and parts, and completing installations.
  • Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques, and recommending system improvements.
  • Maintain rapport and communication with all departments within Stumptown by keeping them informed of all service issues related to their particular department job functions (sales, retail, etc.)
  • Determine whether issues are entirely technical issues vs. training or technique and relay all non-technical problems to the proper department for correction if necessary.
  • Keep personal equipment, vans, etc. operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs.
  • Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications.

Position: Delivery Driver/Production in Los Angeles
Start date: As soon as available
Time requirements: Full Time (40 hours per week)

Overview: Stumptown is excited to offer a new position at our Roastery in Los Angeles. This position will help fulfill our commitment to exceptional customer service and will work very closely with the wholesale team, the office and roasters. This is an hourly position.

The position will require multi-tasking, confidence in dealing with a variety of personalities and helping different departments ensure that quality standards are being maintained.

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Packing roasted coffee
  • Delivering coffee to wholesale customers and the retail cafe
  • Fulfilling and managing customer orders on the production floor
  • Helping with general coffee production and flow on the production floor
  • Interacting with wholesale customers on a daily basis
