We opened our W. 8th cafe in May of 2013 in what was formerly Eighth Street Bookshop, a literary center of Greenwich Village in the 50′s and 60′s. Greats like Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, and Gregory Corso were often seen thumbing through paperbacks and strolling the aisles, until the shop shuttered its doors in 1979. We hope to carry forward the building’s tradition as a cornerstone of the neighborhood and a place for inspiration and conversation.
