The Gesha Road Trip

gesha_map4No sympathy for the devil; keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride…and if it occasionally gets a little heavier than what you had in mind, well, maybe chalk it off to forced conscious expansion.

It was sort of a psychedelic Johnny Appleseed expedition with our fearless founder Duane Sorenson at the helm of a beater station wagon, traversing Latin America with his two young kids and a camera in tow, smuggling sacks of mythical coffee seedstock through jungles, across borders, and to prime plots on two pristine farms–Guatemala Finca El Injerto and Honduras Finca El Puente. Amid literal and figurative highs and lows–including sleepless nights, Duane’s daughter Ava barfing peach juice all over her brother, agricultural laws and border patrol run-ins–a renegade coffee smuggler introduced a finicky, low yielding, Ethiopian heirloom variety called Gesha from Panama Hacienda La Esmeralda to a new world, planting it in new earth. The terroir extracts delicate bursts of citrus, refined by an intensely floral aroma, with deeper notes of bergamot tea, orange blossom and sweet clover honey.

Doing something great takes time and we’ve had to wait seven long years for this first reveal. We present to you a tasting tour of this well-traveled, storied coffee grown on three of the world’s finest coffee farms.

We are offering this limited trio for presale – we’ll roast this small batch in one day and will ship it to order. It won’t last long.

So here’s to bumpy rides, rocky roads and tangled jungles, true stories and ones that are mostly true, holler mountains and little corners of the treasured wild that still exist for us and you and everyone we know. Pre-Order Gesha Road Trip.gesha_map3
